Project Gotham Racing

Project Gotham Racing (PGR) was a popular racing video game series developed by Bizarre Creations and published by Microsoft Studios. The series debuted in 2001 with the release of "Project Gotham Racing" for the Xbox console and went on to have several successful sequels.

The PGR series was known for its focus on urban street racing and featured a combination of realistic cars, city environments, and arcade-style gameplay. One of the key aspects of the game was the "Kudos" system, which rewarded players for stylish and skillful driving maneuvers. Accumulating Kudos points allowed players to unlock new cars, tracks, and other in-game content.

Each installment in the series introduced new features and improvements. "Project Gotham Racing 2" (2003) expanded the car and track selection, while "Project Gotham Racing 3" (2005) was a launch title for the Xbox 360 console, showcasing improved graphics and online multiplayer capabilities.

"Project Gotham Racing 4" (2007) further enhanced the online multiplayer experience and introduced dynamic weather conditions. The series continued with "Project Gotham Racing: Ferrari Edition" (2009) for iOS, which focused on the iconic Italian automaker.

However, after the release of "Project Gotham Racing 4," the series went on hiatus, and no further mainline entries were developed. Bizarre Creations, the studio behind the series, was eventually acquired by Activision in 2007 and closed down in 2011.

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, there have been no official announcements regarding a new installment in the Project Gotham Racing series. It's unclear if the series will be revived in the future or if a new entry is being developed by another studio. It's always possible that plans may have changed or new information has emerged since then, so I would recommend checking official sources or gaming news for the most up-to-date information on the status of the Project Gotham Racing series.
